We provide BOTOX and Juvederm treatments!
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) and other areas of the face.
Juvederm is hyaluronic acid, a natural skin substance, that is injected as a gel and used for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds and wrinkles around the mouth and chin.
Are you looking for a non-surgical way to freshen and rejuvenate the skin on your face? Consider microdermabrasion or chemical peels.
Microdermabrasion treatments make use of a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand the skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer. This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, and sun damage. Imagine a very fine sand blaster and you’ll get a picture of how microdermabrasion works. This technique also helps to thicken your collagen and stimulate new skin growth which results in a younger looking complexion. Collagen is a protein in your skin that is abundant when you are a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin.
A chemical peel is a technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough off and eventually peel off.[1] This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, acne, skin discoloration, and sun damage.
The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. This technique also helps to thicken your collagen and stimulate new skin growth which results in a younger looking complexion. Collagen is a protein in your skin that is abundant when you are a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin. We offer several types of peels including:
- Alpha hydroxy acid peels (glycolic);
- Beta hydroxy acid peels (salicylic);
- Jessner’s peel;
- Trichloroacetic acid peels.
These may be used on the face, neck, eyelids, décolleté, and hands.
Laser Hair Removal and Electrolysis
If efforts to remove unwanted hair leave you with bumps, nicks, burns, or the hassles of repeated shaving, tweezing, or waxing, laser hair removal may be an option worth considering. Laser hair removal is a technique that uses beams of highly concentrated light to penetrate the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by pigment in the follicles and destroys the hair within them. Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face (chin, upper lip, neck), underarm, bikini line, and other areas where unsightly hair is a problem.
Hair grows in different stages: growing, resting and shedding. Because all of the hair isn’t on the same stage at any given time, multiple sessions are needed to get the hair in the growth phase for laser hair removal to be most effective. Ninety percent of patients have permanent hair loss after an average of six sessions.
If you are planning on undergoing laser hair removal, you should limit plucking and waxing for six weeks before treatment. That’s because the laser targets the hairs’ roots, which are temporarily removed by waxing or plucking. Trimming hair or shaving are fine to continue. You should also avoid sun exposure before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and makes complications after treatment more likely. For Laser Hair Removal to be effective, the hair has to have some color or pigment. For hair that is gray or white, electrolysis is another treatment that may be applicable. IPL (intense pulsed light) photorejuvenation
How is IPL used to treat benign vascular lesions?
Aging, sun exposure, and other factors can cause the appearance of broken capillaries and blood vessels on the face known as telangiectasias, which appear as spider veins. Sometimes broken capillaries can cause a diffuse redness in the skin, called erythema, a source of social embarrassment for many people. Rosacea is a common skin condition that is characterized by diffused erythema. All of these conditions respond well to IPL. During treatment, Intense Pulsed Light or laser light is absorbed by the blood in these small veins, heating and destroying the vessels. Over time the destroyed veins are reabsorbed and disappear.
What are IPL Skin Treatments using Photorejuvenation?
The term “Photorejuvenation” refers to the non-ablative, non-invasive treatment of red and brown pigment that leaves a smooth skin texture and even complexion, yielding a more youthful appearance. IPL Skin Treatments are a safe, effective, and popular way to improve the signs of aging from the face, neck, chest, arms and hands. This in-office procedure typically requires four to six sessions of about 20 minutes each, performed at three- week intervals.
